According to the stats published by Aena, the Spanish airports registered 66,305,130 passengers between January and May 2013. According to the information from the Statistic National Institute (INE) the number of passengers who chose the airplane for their domestic trips fell by 16.1% in April. The passengers who travel by train decreased by 2.9%.In total, over 105.3 million people used an intercity transportation in April. This means an increase by 2.1% with drops in every way of transport but the bus, which increased by 7.6%.In the case of the train, the decrease was in the short distance (3.6%), however the long haul gained passengers by 9.5%.
