Novel coronavirus infection (nCoV) Standard

Due to the global alert of the novel coronavirus (nCoV), the Ministry of Health in Spain, through an information notice, is advising on the obligation of airlines to notify any health event occurring on board for all flights arriving to SpainSince the first case in Spain was confirmed on 5th November, AENA, through the Handling Agents, is reminding this obligation to airlines, so any information received about a possible case in a flight of this syndrome must be immediately brought to the attention of the airport and the Ministry of Health.   Source: Ministry of Health

Budget 2014 – Aena charges Standard

The State General Budget Law was submitted to the Parliament on 30th September. Airlines reach an agreement with AENA to withdraw appeal Standard

Fomento privatize AENA: Aena is studying to privatize the 51% of its shares; consequently airlines are expressing their alarm to Ministry of Development (Fomento) about the possibility of AENA to become a “private monopoly” that would increase the prices by offering lower quality services. Fomento fixes the increases of Airport charges for the next five years Standard

On 3rd August it has been published in the BOE a modification of Law 21/2003 by which is ratified the agreement reached between AENA and the airlines association to control the increase in airport charges in the coming years.According to this, the maximum increases allowed for the next five years are 2.5% in 2014, 4.5% in 2015 and 5.5% in 2016, 2017 and 2018.From 2019 onwards, AENA reserves the right to recover the deficit incurred by increasing the airport charges. The AENA’s General Manager, Mr. Javier Marín, has announced they will progressively apply a bonus of up to 40% on airport rates in Palma during the winter months by an agreement signed with the Mayor of Palma de Mallorca under the frame of Fundación Turismo Palma de Mallorca 365, with the intention of bringing down the seasonality of this airport.During the act, Mr. Marin has highlighted the passenger’s inflow by 65% in summer compared to 35% in winter.
